We understand that the word discipleship can be intimidating and have many misconceptions but in reality it is the single most important in your journey with Jesus. It’s why we developed a robust, interactive and highly effective system to help people in what we affectionately call The Disciple’s Journey. From the moment you decide that UNION Houston is your NEW home and family, you can go at your pace to learn more in calculated and achievable steps about Jesus and our faith.
You will receive a series of videos giving you information with simple next steps to take. You will then be introduced to connect groups such as Foundations and Freedom and finally The Disciple’s Way, just to name a few.
This is a lifelong process but we have studied and prayed for a long time to have very concise steps so that you can succeed. Join us as we all journey together as disciples of Jesus.
Baptism
Baptism is your public decision to follow Christ. We invite everyone who has decided to follow Jesus to be submerged in water and declare that Jesus is Lord and you are all in!
At UNION, we designate specific Sundays for baptism and encourage you to invite your family and friends to witness this pivotal moment in your walk with Christ.
Connect Groups (Small Groups)
Connect Groups are the heartbeat of UNION Houston. We invite everyone to join one of our Connect Groups, where genuine connections and spiritual growth thrive. Connect Groups provide a place for you to share your faith journey, support one another in prayer, and dive deeper into the teachings of the Bible. Whether you are new to our church or you’ve been here for a long time, there is a group for you that meets your interests and schedule. We believe that being part of a Connect Group will enrich your spiritual life and foster meaningful relationships within our church family that make this big city feel like home.
If this is your first Connect Group with us, begin with Foundations. If you are jumping in mid-season, join a Biblical Journey group.

Join a Team
The best way to get involved at UNION is to volunteer on one of our Connect Teams. Whether it’s greeting guests, teaching kids, or something more behind the scenes, we will help you find the perfect team. Sign up for our monthly Connectors 101, our volunteer orientation.
The Disciple's Journey
The Disciple’s Journey is not a place to arrive, but a life we aspire to live. We will walk with you through a series of short, interactive videos that will take you on a journey of becoming a disciple of Jesus. Remember, this is a journey! The life of a disciple has peaks and valleys. Through it all, you’ll learn more about Jesus and be transformed to be more like Him. During this engaging and interactive journey, you’ll be invited to join connect groups and other enriching experiences at UNION Houston. These are designed to support and grow your faith by connecting you to God’s family and God’s word.
